The quality of the grapes this year was reasonably good, although the overall yield was not that high, with adequate sugar levels and acidity not too high. It has now all been safely processed in the winery, using whole bunch pressing to extract the juice whilst limiting as far as possible damage to the skins. The juice is now safely sitting in tanks bubbling away – this is the Pinot Meunier coming out of the press. At the moment it tastes not bad, although it will not be until 2022 at the earliest that we will be able to judge what the finished product is like.
