As a strictly limited offer (we only have 6 available) we are selling stillages of 72 bottles of the 2022 Wellhayes Sparkling Wine ‘en-primeur‘ pre-disgorging.

2022 was a great Summer, including for vines and the 2022 vintage promises maturity of fruit and balanced acidity. It is currently in store having completed its second fermentation and will be released in 2027.

This offer enables you to hold the wine for as long as you like. The 2022 vintage will be formally released in May 2027 following which you will be able  to draw down bottles (minimum drawdown at any one time is 12 bottles) whenever you like. 6 months notice is required for drawdown for disgorging and to ensure the dosage has been properly absorbed within the bottle.

The only additional costs payable on drawdown is duty  at the prevailing rate. The total cost is equivalent to just under £23 per finished bottle at current duty rates.

An annual statement of balance will be provided at the end of each calender year so that you can remind yourself how many bottles you still have in store.

This unique offer provides a small number of stillages available for purchase ‘en-primeur‘. The stillages comprise 72 bottles and purchasing a stillage in this way has a number of advantages:

– a considerable reduction on the price per bottle. At current Duty rates, the total price per bottle works out at less than £22.

– Guaranteed supply of 6 dozen bottles of a wine that is likely to be highly sought after when released in May 2027.

– You can hold the bottles (pre-disgorging) for as long as you like, which means that, as this is likely to be a fine vintage, you will be able to see how the wine matures over time.
